Rummage — SMS Consent & Opt-In Policy

Last updated: July 2026

What Rummage texts you about

Rummage is a local classifieds app for yard, estate, and moving sales. When you create a Rummage account, we send a one-time 6-digit verification code by SMS to confirm you own the phone number you entered. This is the only kind of SMS message we send — Rummage does not send marketing, promotional, or recurring messages by text.

Sample message

123456 is your Rummage verification code. Expires in 10 minutes.

How you opt in

You opt in by entering your phone number in the "Create Account" form in the Rummage app and tapping "Create Account." That action is the only way a verification text is triggered — we never text a number that hasn't just been entered into that form.

The sign-up screen itself displays this disclosure directly beneath the phone number field, before account creation: "By entering your phone number and creating an account, you agree to receive a one-time SMS verification code from Rummage. Message and data rates may apply. We don't send marketing texts."

Message frequency

One message per verification attempt. You may receive an additional message only if you request the code again (e.g. tapping "Resend code").

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier and plan. Rummage does not charge for this message.
